Giorgio, as he is known by his friends, was born in Mexico City and is a true citizen of the world. He is renowned entrepreneur of the restaurant and gastronomic sector. Here is a man who knows to perfection, the necessary details to make a restaurant successful. This is due to a simple reason: Giorgio started his career from the bottom and made his way to the very top, occupying most of the positions that help make a restaurant memorable for its great food and service.
The beginnings of Giorgio’s career were marked by hard work, enthusiasm and a quest for personal growth. When he was very young, he left Mexico and moved to the United States, in search of the best approach to pursue a professional career.
His outstanding performance at work, in addition to a natural talent for customer relations, soon allowed him to stand out, to the point where he consolidated the dream of opening several restaurants in San Diego, California.
His restaurants’ stunning success began to consolidate Giorgio’s increasingly fine reputation. He nurtured important business relations that would eventually present him with a new horizon: the return to his hometown, Mexico City, where he had envisioned the challenge of creating an innovative concept that resulted in establishing the most attractive restaurant in the country, famously known as “El Divino”, whose excellent cuisine and stunning cultural atmosphere melded together to offer a unique sensory experience. In 1995, it received the coveted award given by the International Interior Design Association, as the most beautiful restaurant in the world, also acclaimed by the most demanding international palettes and art connoisseurs.
Today, Giorgio has a new mission: to show the culinary richness of Mexico, by giving it the position it deserves in the worldwide scenario. To this end, he teamed up with his partner and friend Roberto Vidales, to launch a spectacular adventure: “Two Hungry Mexicans”, a platform that aims to present an attractive tour of the many ingredients, authentic recipes and great variety of flavors and traditions that make up the best of Mexico’s gastronomy.
Today, Giorgio is a full time ambassador of Mexican cuisine, within the framework of the country’s extraordinary cultural wealth, the beauty of the land and spirit of its people.
